Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events. We have students compete in the Premier’s Debating Challenge, NSW Multicultural Public Speaking Competition and Minchinbury Public Speaking Competition as well as all students participate in the schoolwide Verse Speaking Competition.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. Colyton Public School participates in opportunities such as Operation Art, Schools Spectacular and Synergy Dance Festival.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Cultural Activities
Our school proudly participates in a variety of cultural activities throughout the year that celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage. These include NAIDOC week programs, Aboriginal Education Cultural Group and Elevated Culture Festival. Through these meaningful experiences, we foster respect, understanding, and connection to the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Recess and lunchtime clubs
At our school, students can join a variety of recess and lunch clubs based on their interests. These include Choir, Dance, Lego, STEM, Art, Chess and Sport. These clubs provide fun and engaging opportunities for students to develop new skills, express creativity and connect with others in a supportive environment.
